Houses for Bats

The Bat populations are declining around the world, often because of disappearing bat habitats. Bats are essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems. Bats eat insects and many of the nasty bugs that harass our back yard activities. Bats can consume up to 1200 insects a piece per hour. That’s a lot less mosquito bites. Mosquitoes aren’t the only insect that bats eat- they have a wide diet that includes many of the moths that are the adult form of worms that like to eat your plants. Bats can also clear bugs out of your garden in an other way, many insects can hear the bats and leave the area to avoid being eaten. So, more bats equals less bites on you and more vegetables in your garden. Add a bat house in your back yard today.

Yankee Tipper 360 Degree

Attract ground feeders to a feeder with a seed tray without feeding squirrels! Save money on seed with a Yankee Tipper!

The Tipper’s 10" diameter weight sensitive feeding tray tips under the weight of a grey squirrel, but can hold the weight of up to four cardinals (about 8 oz.). The large tray gives ground feeders and songbirds a flat perching surface that also collects fallen seed. It also serves as a platform that allows multiple birds to feed simultaneously from the four seed ports.  The heavy metal cap fits snugly on the tube to prevent squirrels from lifting it to reach the seed.

The 4-3/4" x 21" clear feeder tube makes the seed visible to the birds, a proven advantage. Made of UV Stabilized Polycarbonate, it ensures long lasting durability without yellowing. Its length and girth are designed to prevent squirrels from reaching the seed ports.

With a large 5 lb. capacity, you don’t need to refill your feeder every day.

An internal baffle design keeps seed flowing freely to the ports. With the metal top and base powder coated in Midnight Black, the Tipper looks stunning in any yard. Hang the Tipper securely from its heavy duty signature looped stainless steel wire which reduces motion.

Providing Water for Birds

Water is an essential part in any bird garden. Most birds need to drink several times a day. Birds need fresh water for drinking and bathing (for feather maintenance). The easiest way to accomplish this is by providing a bird bath or a garden pond. When buying a bird bath keep the following in mind:

* Should have gradual slope
* It should not be slippery
* Be no more than 3 inches deep (small birds don't like water deeper than this).

Bird baths can placed in a variety of locations, but the best spot to place one is near your bird feeder so the birds see it as they come and go.
